Fruits and vegetables can be found in a plethora colours, mainly due to the different micronutrients they contain. Vitamins and phytonutrients responsible for providing these coluorful hues vary in every plant source. Since there is not a single nutrient that can give us everything that we need to be healthy, it is recommended that we choose a variety of fruits and vegetables in different colours of the rainbow in our diet to benefit fully from a rich and varied spectrum of nutrients for optimal health benefits.
